Congratulations to Cabela's for taking away another thing from the employees, family time! No more closing early on certain holidays so employees can be with their families. What's next Cabelas? Are we going to be open Thanksgiving and Christmas, too? Wouldn't doubt it!

The problem with your store is that nobody is held accountable. They had to remove the hunting manager and make him a delianager because he is incompetent is my belief. When he was in the warehouse he did not know how to do any of the required tasks in warehouse or inventory. Yet he had been managing the inventory for a few years. When we complained to management about him for incompetence as well as poor human and management skills they turned a blind eye to it and allowed it to happen because they didn't want to rock the boat and not would they listen to the leads or workers who saw the mans failures on a daily basis.
The current hunting manager is a year out of college, at most two, and from my interactions with him he is more concerned about flirting with the female outfitters and less concerned about work.
The Cabela's I work for there is not but a few happy people working in the whole store. It's work harder, do more and you still need to do more. Looks like they bought the operating manual from Walmart.
At our store I see the aquarium guy working as a gun greeter, working in fishing and giving tours of the store, I'm not sure how he has time to take care of the aquariums. They'll work him like a dog till he gets fed up.
It's typical these days.....we have a store full of managers and employees all looking for new work.....in our store we have a GM and an Operations Manager that would sink if any of the key management staff left,,,they have very little working knowledge of how to run the store,,,,can't wait to see how that turns out...since they delegate all of their work to other managers so they can spend 3 hours in the deli or flat out leave 5 hours early it going to be interesting......
