Yeah I was for a bit. Take some time to recharge but update everything you can now. LinkedIn, resume, etc. Casual apply everyday to something and get in the mix. Don't take the layoff personal as it's just business and don't spend time wishing you woulda done things different.

Just let it go. Yes, you got screwed over so that someone's buddy could keep their job, some people are retained only to maintain diversity objectives while more qualified people were sent packing, and your manager is now blaming you for all the problems in his organization. That's life, and if you don't move on you're just letting Schlum live rent free in your head. Either you will find a new job where you never have to deal with them again so who cares, or you will find something where they will have to deal with you and then you can issue some payback.

I go from manager's house to manager's house screwing their wives. They spend so much time sucking up at SLB that their wives are ready to do their own sucking. Some of them even pay me! Why do all the kids at the family picnic all look related?

Find a few job search or networking groups to join, it will help with "letting go" and re-focusing your efforts on landing a new job.

Moved to the other side of the world, got a new job in another industry. Bought a house, new car and a huge pickup truck. Never looked back.

I have become addicted to coke and prostitutes but it's expensive and my severance money is getting less and less as time goes on. It sure does help deal with the stress though

SHOULDNT BE DEPRESSED, EVERYONE HAD A CHANCE TO STRATEGIC PLAN THEMSELVES TO A MARKETABLE LINE OF FIELD. EITHER MOVING FORWARD TO BIGGER AND BETTER COMPANY, BUT EVERYONE OF US IS TOO COMFORTABLE AND ARROGANT THINKING IT WON'T HAPPEN. WELL IT DID! YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPENERIENCES AND A DEGREE. STEP OUT OF THAT COMFORT ZONE/BUBBLE, CAUSE THIS WORLD WE LIVE IN IS PRETTY HUGE. THERE IS ENDLESS JOBS OUT THERE. SUCK IT UP, CAUSE TOMORROW IS A BRAND NEW DAY.

I have indulged myself in big macs, loads of whiskey and pies. I think whiskey has been the most helpful for me to forget but you should go for the drink/ substance of your liking.

I know it is hard but hang in there. Yes some of us are depressed… we feel betrayed. We thought SLB would take care of us… especially those of us that had been with the company for many years… be well and take care of yourself… there are other companies that treat their employees better…
