For a previous poster who wanted to know what cash Univesity of Phoenix had had, the parent company's balance sheet is linked below. Apollo Education Group has been burning through cash quickly, from $808M on May 31, 2015 to $579M on February 29, 2016. Lots of questions on the balance sheet. For example, how did APOL's goodwill rise by $90M in the last quarter? And what "intangible assets" does it own that went up $60M in the last quarter? Does Deloitte actually audit this mess?

Are you pretty sure we have 580 million in CASH? I just want to know how much cash we have not cash equivalents,etc....please check again....thanks a lot ! That is the main number to look at for now and I thought it was pretty low and that is one of the reasons they are selling,etc....share your thoughts..
All amounts in the financial statements are in $'000. So, by February 2016 the Cash and Cash Equivalents was at about $580 million. That is much less than back in November 2015, when it was at $629 million.
@HuJyQIg-2fqd, the number is about right--for Apollo Education Group--the parent company. It's "cash and cash equivalents." But the number is dwindling quickly. APOL is burning through cash. With the hundreds of millions University of Phoenix gets every quarter in Title IV funds and GI Bill money, the company isn't even making a profit. The executives are also going to be getting their golden parachutes this year if the deal goes through.
I just checked on yahoo finance and it shows as of march 1, 2016 we have 580,000 in cash is that correct? Someone please check and share your thoughts? I just need to know just cash only in the bank???
