When you think drilling, do you think cameron? No. Not to mention, the jury has been out for 6 years since the "disaster that shall not be mentioned", no matter what the reports read. The company has been dead in the water for quite some time and lacked innovation and talent.
SLB was looking for somewhere to plan for their expansion and not have to do much work aside from reinvigorating the talent and not spending millions or billions on real estate.
