Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

The operation of the entire company depends on the hourly employee. Management are such small minded under educated boobs, they can't see it.

Having lived in Sidney a goodly portion of my life and relocated elsewhere do to employment and personal reasons some years ago. It saddens me to see such a bright and vibrant community being starved to death by the negativity of the situation. Granted reading the post and news articles there seems not much to be positive about, unless you ar part of the Sidney elite that is. I have noticed that most of my friends and my famliy has all moved in the last ten years, When questioned they cite their reasons that living in Sidney has become extremely caustic and dangerous if you do not agree with those is positions of authority and it is much safer to leave. I find this extremely hard to believe.

What has happened to the business on the hill? Corporate greed, nepotism cronism a general lack of morals? I remeber as a young person that you were proud to be an cabelas employee. You were part of a team, A member of the famliy so to speak.

I ope what i hear and read is wrong and pray that the community will heal from all this madness and insanity.

"Why would a company try to hire someone who is doing something that is federally illegal?"

Bzzzzzttttt.........

Many applicants could smoke cannabis occasionally and be denied being hired. Until the employer screens them, the applicant still goes through with the application. The applicant has nothing to lose to apply unless the employer blacklists them the instant they fail the drug test.

I have nothing positive to say about this company. Hourly employees work hard and management doesn't appreciate it or recognize it. The only time employee gets noticed is if they do something wrong

Another problem that limits getting employees is that many folks can not pass a drug test. Why go through all the hoops to get a job for mediocre pay in a retail shop. The hardest workers are not applying.

They pray to the "Almighty Dollar" and can't comprehend what or how to bring customers back into the stores
