They announced Ai Los Angeles campus closure in January. Admissions was let go that same day. Wasn't this announced company wide? Let me see, it was January 12th or 13th. It was one of three for the year. Student housing will close by the end of December.

Some faculty may be affected at some campuses, depending on enrollments in their programs. If you see enrollments going down significantly in your department, and if you have too high a ratio of FT faculty to students, it could impact some FT positions. But that's not the primary focus this round.

PT faculty are hired on a term by term basis based on need. If you're a PT faculty member and you've been there a while it just means there's been continuing need, but that could go away any quarter if enrollments continue to drop.

Does anyone know if faculty will be included in the restructuring,ft/pt or just staff?

Chicago is under investigation by their accreditors for a multitude of reasons. The suburban campus piggybacks their accreditation. I have no idea what they are going to do to avoid having their accreditation pulled considering the abuses are well documented. The appalling thing is that students and faculty are not even being informed of the HLC investigations. Add to that the fact that all campuses are under federal heightened cash monitoring, and it just makes the situation all the more dubious. Both campuses have downsized significantly. The Argosy in the suburbs used to have its own building, but EDMC did not renew the lease on the second building, so now both Argosy and Ai are sharing a building and EDMC downsized the leased space on that building as well. If any of the campuses do get announced for teach out, I would assume the Chicago area campuses would have to be included.

Look up how Westwood College sold out to NAU to slide by... but know what that NAU is failing too!

Closures have proven far more expensive that the company ever anticipated. For this reason no new closures will be announced. The restructure in late June though also paves the way to close teach out schools much faster than initially planned, with some schools closing before the end of the year.

The new "skeleton crew" style model for all departments except admissions will in fact bring in higher profits over both the long and short term even for extremely underperformed schools.
