Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Unusual happenings at DMC today.

I’m not trying to make this more than it is, but the white shirt managers and what looked like all the PGL’s came in about 8:00AM this morning. They went into a meeting and came out about 10:30AM.

I have not ever seen that on a Saturday. I’m attempting to find out more information. I will update as soon as I know more..

Come on now. How hard is this? How inefficient can you people be? Oh, yeah, that's right, this is halbutton, never mind. Why should there constantly be a need to regenerate a new list? Those involved should have drawn up "the list" months ago. Everybody on it, you too, leaving the mere task of working down the list. when the time comes the managerie' only has to go to the name currently occupying the top of the list. your name is on that list. but where? you need to plan. it was the old white guys first, some of those left, maybe the middle aged white guys next, or those who need more health services than the others, or maybe new mothers who actually took some time off, ?? but then again who knows? a man who sells potions at a traveling show? .whatevere, you need to plan, you need to think of yourself and your kids, and some of you produced a brood of them, don't abuse those medical benefits, may move you up the list, but you need to plan, go ask your mangerie' where you stand on that list, are you scared to ask, you should be, if so, then get your whole dept or unit or group whatever, and the next time your group has a meeting, collectively pose that question to you superiors, ask 'em make 'em sweat for the privaledges they enjoy, they will not hesitate to throw your assout in front of the bus. now you go on out there and get 'em tiger and have a good day. we're all counting on you.

The list for this layoff is the same list as the last layoff. People have quit or transferred or had surgery and that has to be accounted for. I imagine that was the reason the managers were there Saturday. There will definitely be a layoff at dmc this week or next

Doesn't take 5 weeks, they can have it ready within a few days. That is a fact. Some layoffs have been only 4 weeks apart. We won't get out of may without having one.

Maybe right. But if that's the case Why did they come in on a Saturday to do what could have been done today?

Only some of pgls were called in and if list were just turned in takes about 5 weeks to make sure they are on up and up so I figure 2nd to 3rd week June

Halliburton publically committed to saving $1B by the end of May. The money has to come from somewhere.

I imagine they were there because Houston called and told them to get the layoff list turned in pronto. Dmc will most likely have a large layoff Thursday and Friday.

I know some of them and that makes sense. Because their camps are gone now and we have people in those positions already.

My guess (and only a guess) is that they may be talking about the assimilation of the integration team back into their jobs.

With DMC being so slow, now is the prime time for the plant to be moved to Houston. Duncan will be nothing more than a warehouse, pressure test plant, and a small scale service center. All MFG capabilities will be lost. You soon will be given the choice to transfer. Watch and see.
