So I came across a list of K-Mart stores that were given to district managers a few months back. The stores are mostly negative EBITA stores but also have other criteria that out them on this list. Now, this list is not a definitive list of stores that are closing or that will close soon, but I would say it is pretty close. I looked up the first 12 stores on the list on vendor portal, and 10/12 are either already closed or were amongst the stores announced to close on May 2. I can't copy and paste the list because it is a jpeg image file that was copied and pasted from an excel file, but I can let anyone know if there store is on the list if anyone would like to check. My store IS on the list, which is the reason I'm sharing this info and will be letting my coworkers know. Like I said, it is NOT a 100% positive sign your store is closing but judging from the stores I've looked up thus far it is scarily accurate to say the least. It is based on regions so I need to know the region your store is in if you want me to check, and store number wouldn't hurt.

I gave my notice completely at my sears location after 25 years!! They found someone to replace me part time. That makes me feel sad. I hope they close soon. Sorry if that sounded mean.
4937 4964 and 3555 are all NOT on the list.
In regards to the Ohio post: 4175 - Canton, OH and 4169 - Massillon, OH are both on the list, both listed as phase 1 stores. Do you know if either has cleared their backrooms out yet? I'm assuming N Canton means North Canton but there is no "North Canton" listed on this list. If you can find a store number I can double check to make sure.
When you get a chance could you check these stores in Ohio, and what phase they are?

A recent article in the Chillicothe Gazette quoted SHC as saying they are not closing the Chillicothe location. But we all know they can change their mind at any given time. Just curious as to their overall status, if on that list. Please and thank you!

Of those four stores only 9728 - SMYRNA, TN is on the list. It is a phase 2 store.
What about 3084 (Nashville), 3083 (Ft Oglethorpe Ga), 9621 (Lebanon, TN), & 9728 (Smyrna, Tn)?

3126 - Shelby Township MI is on the list. It is a phase 2 store. 3644 - Nashville TN is also on the list and is also a phase 2 store. 3340 is not on the list.
Is store 3340 Herndon, Virginia, Southeast Region on the list? The store is in especially bad condition and sales are so slow merchandise is piling up.

Thanks again from 3350, and yes they shipped shelves we have to have them all up by June 1 that's when a team of employees from other stores coming to empty back rooms store looks bad just putting stuff everywhere garden stuff in electronics,toys in auto looks like crap. What a shame they did say a 5 year lease was signed I don't believe it from everything happening I think they are just saying it so people don't quit so they can use them to close stores

9332 Springfield MD is on the list. It is a Phase 2 store. 4047 and 4726 are both not on the list.
To the employee at 3350: This seems to be the theme of this list and of closing stores is the emptying of the stock room and then the store closes somewhere between 3-9 months later. Were you shipped pallets of shelves to use on the overheads? From the employees I have talked to they have said similar things. Shelves shipped in, lots of visits from employees from other stores (employees from the stores that were doing well would come to help organize and empty out the stock rooms at the poor performing stores), and then the store announced it was closing months later.

Thanks for reply on 3350 and yes they stared clearing out stock rooms then stopped but now another store is coming in to help empty stockrooms they have been putting overhead shelves through out store

Phase one does look like it means it is a higher at risk store of closing sooner than a phase 2 because of those 10 out of 12 stores I mentioned in the first post 9 of the 10 were phase one stores.
