I'm a red bandget in one of the cloud groups. I'm wondering why are forcing managed services on contractors. I don't make a lot of money but going on the payroll of tcs, Infosys Will pay me less. The realast reason cisco going with managed services is for fixed cost contract. That way, cisco can budget. I hate to work for third rate manged services company .
already happened is some groups. Cisco selected 3 contract compaines for managed services and all red badges were moved into those managed services companies if possible. If not they are gone. Model is to have just a few FTE and many in managed services. Long term goal is that managed services will grow is experience and skill set and they can continue to reduce the FTE's.
What they don't get is that is costs alot to live in the Silicon Valley. Good people will get jobs with better money. Managed services companies can only attract people with average abilities because they pay less and have a lower level of benefits.
Long term quality will continue to decline, moral will continue to decline, managed services will see continued turn over, Palo Alto Networks, Arista etc will continue to crush Cisco due to its lack of investment in a highly qualified and stable workforce.
No one cares about contractors especially Cisco... They could be let go anytime. I'm wondering how many blue badges (perm) will be affected...
no - i mean, those who are currently red badges, by Oct. 23rd, have 1 of 3 options:
a) convert to blue (as in, a req must be open and offered by their mgr)
b) OR they may be offered a role in Managed Services
c) OR they will be let go
So, if you are RED, pick your poison - it's either 1 of 3 options, from now, up until Oct. 23rd of this year.
Do you mean convert blue badges (permanent with benefits) to red badges (contractor with no benefits?)
