Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day

To all the moms who have been struggling because either their husband or themselves were laid off due to the incompetence of the upper management at Mattel.

I am sure some very nice jewelry will be given in the households of the enriched incompetents today, while you are trying to figure out how to make ends meet this month. Those despicable people will not give you a second thought today.

Silly me, when you said Mothers, I assumed you meant Mattel's upper mismanagement team. But that group would actually be spelled Muthas.

So Happy Mutha's Day, you clueless, useless, overpaid, soul-sucking morons!

Does firing a pregnant woman (I'm guessing A in marketing) a big surprise at this point? The company has turned into a cesspool to work for. I still can't get over pornstache getting fired after all he's done for the gay silver fox, and yet miss vertigo with all her BS over the years and inability to work with female designers on her team is allowed to stay. She must be so frustrated that there isn't anyone to blow for her to climb the corporate ladder at this point. Bet she wishes she had a dick right about now.

What toy company lays off/fires pregnant women and dusts it under the rug? Fisher-Price of course. What's sad is the people that do it are mothers and have families too but have no empathy. When it's done they put it out of their minds and forget the person existed. So sad

I'm going on a year since I've been laid off from FP. While my life is no where near where it should be, I'll always cherish this time I've been given with my child... Even if I have to live with my parents when I am married and have a family! F- Mattel. I am much happier regardless.

To all of those who are on hard times, I feel bad for you. But be resilient. There was a reason you got hired by Mattel and a reason why you're not there still. But those reasons don't define you. Facing hard times and dealing with adversity does more to shape who you are. Believe in your abilities and make your own dreams come true. Be grateful that you're not assisting the soul-less people who are running Mattel.

Idiots bringing politics into this discussion. This is about people's lives being ruined by the greed of our management. The need to enrich themselves trumps treating the employees as human beings. It is a tragic situation.

People who have been loyal to this company have been cast aside through no fault of their own. Their sin is longevity and commensurate compensation. Better to show them the door than decrease the excessive compensation for those at the top of the heap.

To satisfy the need for a dividend, not to mention the continued spending on personal office expansions, shopping trips to Europe and Asia, and town cars for the greedy, good people are having their whole lives turned upside down.

These people have no shame.

lol to the person who thinks there are still 2 political parties and the American people have a vote/say. Politicians and money run the country and big corporations. I feel sorry for those who think their vote counts. If you think you're just a number pegged for a lay off how important do you think you are to a politician?

Some of these issues such as education and health care are American public policy issues

Too bad we ended up with the republicans version of social health care they call it Obama Care

but it was all Obama could get from those greedy mofos in the Republican Party as a compromise

And don't get me started about higher education

We are not a free nation we are a debt slave nation

ask any melenial that has a huge student loan debt that they have to work off for the next 20 years

And loosing a plum job like Mattel is a total bummer if you bought into the debt economy .

Let this be a warning !!!

A lot of the discussion on this site seems to ignore the reality of what A Layoff can be to a family. People lose their homes, have no funds to pay for college, suffer stress related illness, and some never recover. FAMILIES can be impacted, not only this generation but into the next.

That is the saddest thing about being just a number on a balance sheet. Those who are just moving numbers around don't really think about how someone's daughter, who might have a bright future, suddenly can't afford the education she deserves.

Just so some rich mofo can have even more.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

Thank you so much for your concern. I am one of those moms. The struggle IS real out here. True, Jobs are plentiful but NOT good jobs that pay the bills. Life is certainly different now. It's nice to know someone is thinking of us. We all know Mattel doesn't care.
