I can tie an IP address to every post. Just think how much companies would pay to know who's posting. Or...how much posters would pay to keep that info secret. Carry on! Your Internet Address (IP) is provided by the Internet Service Provider (ISP). Go ahead, trace the IP address, call the ISP and ask for my physical address using what you find. They won't tell you WITHOUT a court order. Verbally telling them you have one won't either.
BUT, do far I have only seen foul words on here. If there was a viable threat to do harm on here then that would be taken to a judge for a court order to release your location and name.
Other than THAT, go ahead .....I only post reasonable comments on here.
I'm sure the paranoid person will think Dave paid someone off to get it. But I highly doubt it. It must be a viable threat before law enforcement get involved.
Nutshell: Yes it can be traced IF you're not in a Starbucks hot spot. BUT only with a court order or with a good bribe to an ISP employee.
