Anyone else hearing the rumor that they are closing the Denver office? (rumor coming from other O&G companies, not from within)

Soon APC will have gender neutral bathrooms as a result of adding "more perks" while freezing raises.I'm glad I voted for raises for the executive committee before I quit. I hope my proxy vote keeps those guys running the show. I'd hate for them to have to sell one of their houses.

Also, HR is a joke...you go to them with an issue to avoid conflict and it gets thrown back in your face. Exit Interview on Survey Monkey dot com....so classy. Walker will never be half as good as Hackett was....

Hiring more in HR. Idiots. They just need to wipe out the HR department as there's not two brain cells between the multitudes in that department. Just crazy. But what do you expect with the leadership that's been left to destroy what once was a decent department?

"Open Communication" And here they go again, hiring for another HR position in Houston; Why? to support the staff remaining after the previous 1200 cut? Or will there be another reduction? Or will they be back to hiring again? Was the reduction too many? Again, I ask why?

Correct! In most layoffs the first round is the best to go out on. Similar to being at the Thanksgiving dinner. The first cuts of the turkey are always the juicier cuts. The later cuts have no "meat" left to chew on.

I hear you on the not taking retirement if offered. As is the case in most layoffs the first round is the best to go out on. I do know people who wanted the package, but were told no. They could have retired, but they ended up having to stay because their expertise were needed. Others that volunteered got the package and moved on down the road. The package was very generous for the volunteer retirees.

Good days and Bad days. We miss our former co-workers and worry that we might be next. Like most, we hope things will turn around and companies start to hire again so we can move on to a better place. Crazy thing is, there are people there who will retire in a year or two and didn't take a package.....not too bright.

Am I understanding this correctly...APC is 'surviving' on borrowed money and selling off assets? Commercial Focus at it's finest....

. Life is great I went to work right away with a true midstream company that recognizes experiance and values not who you know and rub shoulders with . If APC ever wants to be serous about midstream business then they should really watch out for dumping there talent . I'm glad I'm out of there . This is why they had the Ramsey incident because they cannot keep there real talent . Good luck to you all . Hope it works out.

APC still burning $400M in cash each quarter. And it borrowed more money to pay upcoming loan payments. Living on credit and it's not sustainable. More cuts coming for sure this year.

Actually beat estimates. The estimate was -1.19 per share and actually -1.12.

Re 1csu:

“Anadarko reported lower-than-expected revenue for the 2016 first quarter.

Revenue declined to $1.67 billion for the quarter ended March 31 from $2.32 billion for the same period in 2015, missing estimates of $1.81 billion.

The company on Monday reported a loss of $1.03 billion in its first quarter.

Anadarko has a "sell" rating and a letter grade of D at TheStreet Ratings because of the company's deteriorating net income, generally high debt management risk, disappointing return on equity, weak operating cash flow and disappointing stock performance.”

Going downhill from here for folks still working. Better enjoy those nice perks while it’s still there and paid for by “credit card.”
