Fast & Furious: Can we not screw this up!

“The collection is truly innovative and will bring the ‘Fast & Furious’ experience to a new level of interaction, allowing fans to play out their favorite movie scenes with dynamic modern designs and industry-first toy features,” said Susie Lecker, executive vice president and chief brand officer of Mattel’s Toy Box division.

Considering who's mouth this is coming from only makes me filled with dread. What does this clown know? She's been bounced around from division to division after each and every failure, never held accountable but still manages to fail upwards and increase her frequent flyer miles, eh?

Has anyone else been in the "early concept"/brainstorm meetings that stretch marks wanted ideas from? truly pathetic, but after this failure she'll be promoted and moved once again. Just wait.

More like Fat and Frivolous.

The can use SL's stretch marks as a road map for the game play.

you ever wonder if these execs actually believe their own BS? I mean, "modern design, industry first features?" after all the cost and US labor reduction, what's that first going to be? a car with 2 working wheels?

Schwaber did come from Universal, so the F&F brand was probably easy for her with her inside knowledge and the fact that no one else probably thought it was a good idea for a Toy license.

But we didn't get Secret Life of Pets or Minions licenses. Sure they were awarded before she joined MatHell. Let's see what she can do for the next big Universal Kids property.

Forget Slecker, small potatoes. Our new million-dollar Chief Content Officer is Catherine Balsam-Schwaber. So this non-kid-friendly license is the best she can do? Fire this useless slacker and staff up design! Whatever happened to Mattel driving creativity and innovation? Did we lay off all the designers who can actually create brand new kid-relevant toys? If we're not driving the innovation bus then we're under the bus.

Laughable coming from her. The only vehicles Suzy is qualified to know anything about would be food trucks...

if they did something cool like getting cars to drift in a Tokyo play set or had mini cars that were app controlled, but we all know it will be cost reduced crap or some shmuck in content will add a vin diesel voice over to a car and call it the best thing since sliced bread. Either way with SL at the helm and her god awful "instincts" this is sure to be a dollar store shelf warmer.

Fat and the furious (there I said it)

Get back to the sheer ridiculosity of the endeavor. The last thing I'd be doing as a kid would be playing fast and the furious cars on HW tracks. These asshats are merely giving the toy club more product to liquidate.

So what you're saying is 100lbs off that moose makes her skinny? that's laughable at best. She still has another 200 to got before you notice any difference in anything but her pinky finger.

Its not hard to fat shame someone who has been one of the meanest condescending horrible human beings to work with. No guilt in picking on someone who's been equally as abusive.

Seriously, what an embarrassing soap opera...these posts only reinforce how far this once great company has digressed. We should all be so embarrassed. Our focus and priority is to create great products for children...what the hell! Are those in charge so selfless, focused only on self image? We have lost our way, our identity, our focus. Hopefully our kids wont be as ashamed as I feel?

You obviously haven't seen SL in the past year or so. She's lost over 100 lbs and is tiny. The fat shaming is not only juvenile but discredits any digs on actual performance as a leader. Let's talk about facts and what happened to the NYC office under her leadership. Let's talk about the inner circle of people she protects that are some of the most toxic, abusive and manipulative people in the company. Let's talk about how she used to yell at staff with a megaphone and call them stupid. How about her "girls club" and expensive gifts for her friends on payroll? How about her leadership team in the box? How many VP and SVPs do you need? Only at Mattel could people like this rise up the ranks.

It truly is amazing how many times she's flopped from running NYC, MEGA, NYC again, and now back in Cali to continue to make a mess and yet continues to be promoted. She was smart enough to put her cronies in place have her back but even the old silver fox in EA has screwed long time friends over to save his velvety posterior.

How many jobs has The Round Mound of Hound had in the past 3 years? Has she succeeded in any of them? How much is she paying for this useless license?

If this was a food based property I'd say that SL has it under control. This? Here comes some more rollin' layoffs to save her over inflated assonce this fails.

To the last comment, we did the Armageddon Line, I was there :) I remember Demi Moore getting a tour of the joint & she was hot...........the line, not so hot but the company was still halfway decent at that time, not like it is now.

Hasbro is totally different as they continue to resurrect all their old IP's. MASK is coming back in a well planned storyline driven content. Unlike MattHell that just continues to throw cost reduced crap on the wall to see what sticks.

BTW, let's see if Tricky Dicky even bothers to mention how Batman vs. Superman product did as it was superglued to the retail planogram. They will probably be given out as this years employee Christmas gifts. I'll give mine to the toy drive.

Executive responsible for content is from NBC/ Universal. Seems like friends at the old company helping her out, but really, how much revenue is this old property going drive?? What , was'nt the Matrix or Armagedon license available? these are decades old irrevalent properties also.... Hey executives , this is not impressive . The press release sounds like BS. Mattel has copy writers that can do better to drive business page headlines. Sack the inept execs spouting this nonsense and have janitor deliver a better written and more sincere press release. That will get you headlines. Lowers the overhead cost! Fast and furious road to nowhere!

Great. Master Toy License for a property that is targeted 13+.

Do we have the Collectables license? Nope.

Do we have the Video Game license? Nope.

We would have been far better off with the Finding Dory Master License. Somehow we lost out on that.
