Wow, everything on this site has suddenly gone quiet.
What's going on?
Has Corporate and the store managers effectively gagged everyone? Have they gone into full scale intimidation mode?

Note to bunchofwierdos - guess what, bud - you work for a public company, period and this is a public site. And do not forget who pays your salaries - we do - long term, loyal customers who have gone the extra mile to shop Cabela's. No more - I absolutely love to hunt, fish and camp and love to shop with people who are equally passionate - not the case with your response nor is it a part of the store, the company or the product. Gone is Cabela's - the world's foremost outfitter. Now just an understaffed, big box with leaders who are only interested in driving it to the ground. No more cabala's for me or my family .
This is a public site and anyone can post. You must be upper management and think you are better than everyone else. freedom of speech still exists in the USA and if you don't want anyone posting delete the site.
Note to bunchaweirdos.
Why so insulting?
We long time customers have a vested interest in the company and the stores we shop in. Don't forget, without us customers, no job for you.
I happen to really care about what is going on and this site seems to be the only source for information.
Granted, some of the posts are biased one way or another, but a long time customer, such as myself, who regularly visits the Hamburg store, can see what is going on. I don't want to see the day where I can no longer go to Hamburg and spend hours in the store shopping and having great conversations with some of the Outfitters I have know for years. And yes, there are some long time knowledgeable and helpful Outfitters at that store. Some of them even come to know me by name. That means a great deal to the customer.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. These Outfitters have made connections with many of us. Apparently, your one of those who turns his back and walks the other way when a friendly customer comes into you store.
I want you to have just as much of a future and job security as any of the others working for Cabela's.
By the way; is this a private site where only Cabela's employees are allowed to comment? If that's the case, why not develop your own website and allow only Cabela's employees access. That way, management can zero in on who is posting and deal with them more efficiently.
The point is, there are lots of us customers out here who care.
really weird that people who do not work or shop at the stores comment here.
have any of you tried stamp collecting to fill the void?
Interesting reply - typical Cabela's response - have been a customer for a long time and the days of customer service are looooooooooong gone - thanks Tommy and crew. Fortunately this is America and the "stop trying to stir up drama" comment exists within Cabela's now but not here, in real America. It has nothing to do with drama, just a question in a country that allows such.
It is amazing how bad it is - they are selling lifestyle and passion and those words no longer exist with anyone internally at the stores. What a shame. Jim and Dick had a vision and tommy and crew threw it away. With so many still on payroll that have been booted out and the golden parachute they worked in - no one cares nor has to. It doesn't matter, they will be protected yet so many will pay incredible prices. There are other choices for gear and I am going to vote with my dollars.
Stir up drama? Hell, I don't even work there, but have loved Cabela's for years. I read this site, because I'm concerned for all of the many fine Outfitters I have met through the years shopping in Cabela's stores.
No one in management ever helped with the purchase of anything, but the hourly floor outfitters did many a time.
I'm also mad as hell that the company isn't thriving and apparently mistreating their employees.
Apparently, you are management,
Stop trying to stir up drama. Maybe everyone is trying to act like an adult and not stoop to your level.
Sorry, too busy interviewing, not enough time to speculate any further.
