I have read with much interest the posts of these sad times. I feel for the individuals and their families with mortgages and mouths to feed. I was laid off after 40 years with no notice or fanfare... But I consider myself very fortunate as retirement was in a few months. Halliburton Company has never heard of the word loyalty. The first indication of this is in in the policy of Severance Pay which some of you may have been able to take advantage of. If you happened to have worked 40 years for Halliburton you would have enjoyed being paid a week's salary for every year worked... Up to 13 years that is... Ha! Working mostly in field operations around the world for 40 years you develop pretty thick skin which helps when putting up with the individuals who manage this company. All I can do now is shake my head. I wish you all good luck and please be safe wherever life leads you.

I took my RTTS belt buckle and traded it in for a pint (back when it was worth a pint lol!) at Barney Rubbles in Aberdeen. I kept my Rolex too. So glad I chose no logo on the face.
Yeah, I kept my Rolex too!
The only thing I did not throw in the trash can was my bodyoad pump truck beltbuckle.
And my 35 year service award Rolex Oyster.
Lol, I packed a Halliburton shirt off to Value Village today. I have gotten rid of every piece of Halliburton paraphernalia that I collected over my 33 years of service. All of service awards-garbage, all of my MVP awards-garbage, anything with the name Halliburton on it-garbage.
One week salary per year, 13 years maximum. Not a myth. Look at policies on HALWORLD. On another subject I seem to recall long ago in a place far, far away.... Halliburton had a mission statement back when that was the thing to do.... Halliburton had people at the top of the list.... Or was it at the bottom? A sign of things to come. I was in Stavanger back in 1999/2000 when Dave spoke at the new facilities including spewing forth how we should tighten our belts during the slow period/low oil prices during that particular time. He actually said we (Norwegians) should perhaps only eat out once a week and not go to a movie? This coming from a man who was making 15 million a year! I do not miss Halliburton at all..
The 13 week maximum is a f---ing myth, they only paid 4 weeks for my 38 years, due to a break in service.
I can only hope that the new Halliburton goes tits up at some point in the near future.
Worked 39 years for Halliburton. When Mr. Halliburton flying H was removed as the company logo. It ceased to be the company I hired on with. Not about pride or loyalty. From management to the field personal look we pay your salary. Be glad you have a job. Management seems to forget who generates the revenue. On-site well service.
Dick and Dave took a great company . And ran it into the ground.
I got couple oh those shirts still packed. Need to sale it on eBay for 3.5 bill
Two true, and sad posts. We used to work for a great, profitable, well run company. Now Halliburton is a joke, run by bean counters, brown nosers and foreign contractors who are totally ignorant of what the company and the man with the name Halliburton once was. I threw away all my old MVP shirts and other worthless Halliburton swag and look forward to a future where I no longer have to piss my remaining years away working for an organization that does not have a clue what it does or where it is going. Good Luck!
At least you got to enjoy the old halliburton. I feel bad for the new guys who will only know the new ways, and everyday i kick myself for staying and not taking the package.
