This was all over the news lately, VeriFone will be laying people off and things are not looking good. In short they are laying off folks and will take a 30 million dollar charge to do so - typically, a single person layoff costs about 100K so you can extrapolate numbers here and figure out that about 30 people will be let go.
I left VeriFone in 2015 and I still known many people over there - I have no insider info though - I am just speculating about possible outcomes here.
