Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Experience Counts ...........or lack there of......

The "experience" they have at Cabela's is a joke. The industry knows it. Some call it in breeding...... You know what happens when they bring talent in from the outside. You are ridiculed and bullied. Until you either give in or leave. I could not take it....now I am back in the real world and love working hard every day.

Do you guys remember when you use to drink in the office....I remember seeing a group of you on the jet so hammered I was embarrassed to be a apart of it. And then what about those retreats out to the "lodge" Again another booze fest. I am not going to call out the names but it a real shame how this company culture was. Those of us that did not fit in have gone on.

it is not only the box on the hill that is famous for its bullying, the community itself is famous for it as well.. Sidney is a most definitely a pay to play community with a definite double standard. Pay the right people stroke the right egos and sell out your honor to be a success (financially that is). Make a stand against the indiscretions stand against the power elite both on the hill and at the city/county. And you life is not worth spit I have seen so many fledgling companies and small businesses destroyed just because they would not play by the rules set forth by the self imposed demigods saviors of Sidney .

If you do not fall into line and play nice, the bullying is brutal, whisper campaigns, false accusations etc. all designed to force conformity or drive decency, morality and common sense fro the community.

It is easier to throw in the towel and play ball and pay the piper or just leave town.

As an outside brought in, I can relate to the bullied part. It was HORRIBLE. One of my friends was bullied so bad that she packed up and left the same day, never looked back. LITERALLY ran her out of town.

I played the game for as long as I could but then I too left. A few months shy of my 2 years I had signed on for but I didn't care. I'd pay back what I had to if needed. (Which it didn't come to that).

I can't say anything about day drinking, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I can vouch for the drinking on the jet- what went on was inconceivable - if people only knew-
