They don't care about severance pay. The ones who are promised severance are at the tippy top. They lack the testicular fortitude required for laying off all these people demands so they're hoping some of their rat pests will jump ship willingly so they don't have to clear the traps themselves.

Do not let them play you by scaring you and making you panic. Make them pay you to leave.
