Is 125 -130 k a good base salary?

I agree with response abt keeping your resume up to date.

It's not bad in S.D. But they've laid off everyone I know of in a Staff SW Eng. position at QC who was making more than $130K per year. Don't count on more than a 1% salary bump per year--if that, plus the RSUs now take longer to vest than when I was there. So get the best deal you can up front, and keep your resume up to date. You can definitely make more if you shop around. And if QC thinks they can replace you with an H1B, for less, it will happen.
