I know for 'fact' that the experience at that R&M centre has not been reduced, so that's not the case here tqi. You are correct about one thing, there have been many experienced great employees laid off from WFT, it's very unfortunate, but that just wasn't a factor in this event. Not trying to "downplay" or "cover up" anything, that's just not what happened.
Xmp, I'm not saying that doesn't happen, but not at this level, once "eq" is sent to an R&M centre, every individual component is stripped, cleaned, inspected, and then reassembled with new and used repaired parts. They don't do this in the field, so this scenario doesn't fall into the catagory that you've described. As it was originally stated, the RSS was BUILT with a scrap shaft.
Obviously, there was a big gap in the process, which resulted in an undesirable outcome, but again, it wasn't due to layoffs, furloughs, or defective parts intentionally sent out.
