Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Will Assets still be sold after merger dies?

I'm hearing that Sperry/DBS will still be sold off. Is this true?

And that is why all those companies were scrambling to fork over big money to buy Sperry and its cutting edge mid-90's technology? Pathetic.

The funny thing is Sperry still is competitive and makes money despite not having anywhere near as much investment or focus as Inteq or Anadrill. They still bring more technological complex and innovative solutions to the table than over funded psl's like completions and PE.

Can wireline run tools at 200C without using flasks? Hellllllll no they can't....

Agree, why would Hal want to get rid of Sperry now? No other collection of mid-90"s technology can even begin to compete with Sperry. Not to mention that fine collection of management. These are Hal U graduates we are talking about.

Wasn't that the point. Run them into the ground so that they are worthless and then get a big bonus for selling it to your friend real cheap.

it was interesting at the time how quickly this became a "merger" after the proceedings that served as the impetus for this fiasco. then once that moniker of merger was put out there every body sucked it up. it was a takeover from the beginning, then marketed as a merger, not it is a failed takeover.....teehee, chuckle chuckle, oooh i wet myself...

Thanks to Halliburton mis-management, they attracted NO bids, therefore Halliburton is stuck with them, and Uncle Dave will make sure that they will pay the price for NOT attracting any interest from would be purchasers.

With only one or two exceptions, Halliburton, under Uncle Dave's leadership, has ruined EVERY acquisition it has ever bought, thanks to Halliburton putting totally unqualified people in charge..

Merger now?? You mean a failed takeover bid.

Highly unlikely. It would be a poor move since there aren't any other significant drilling firms to purchase as a replacement.
