You are an idiot. First, there is hardly any drilling in Manitoba. You forgot the heart of Canada's oil field; Alberta. Second, let's say Sperry runs operations out of North Dakota. A customer is demanding certain tools and men within 24 hours. How do you think we are going to execute the design of service plan when having to deal with customs every single day? You NEED a brick and mortar office in the country you are doing business in. This isn't Amazon, where you can order an IPad & have it shipped to you!
Operationally, Halliburton's Malaysia work is run out of Indonesia for directional. The idea is to run future Manitoba and Saskatchewan Directional work out of Norh Dakota. Even if they pull the operations out, Canadian oil companies can still get the work. It's just that operations will be run from the US. The sales team is safe. Schlumberger works that way for high end directional. More and more of Canada's Directional Drilling work is being remotely. sh-- is getting real.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Whoever says that HAL would pull Sperry out of Canada are incredibly foolish. These next 2 quarters will be tough no doubt. However, Sperry is a great company. If HAL pulls out of Canada, it will send a negative message to customers that have operations and other countries as well as ca negative message to customers that have operations and other countries as well as Canada. We're not talking about shutting down ops in a certain city or state...a whole country? COME ON! Really? Na....Sperry Strong!!!
