Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

A maintenance person, but they're being really tight lipped about the whole thing.

Who was the clown fired in EA this week for shooting up in the cafeteria men's room? Has it gotten that bad? The hush hush is out of control right now.

Perhaps the OP's words are a reflection of the West Coast bashing we've seen on this board.

This should not be an East vs. West argument. We're all in the same boat, in order to move forward, both sides need to paddle....as long as the multiple captains do not constantly steer us into iceberg after iceberg. Otherwise, we'll have people, good sailors, jumping ship. Or more appropriately, how about the captains not continue steer us into these 'headwinds'?

This person seems to have a personal vendetta against FP. He is not complaining about management in his vulgar comments, but attacking the employees of EA and seemingly taking enjoyment in the possibility of them losing their jobs. He keeps trying to gain acceptance of the term F-Peon, to further his hatred for everyone in the company. Taking swings at management is one thing, but lacking in empathy towards your fellow employees is another. This person and his hateful opinions does not deserve to be defended.

After years of dedication and service there, you come to realize the following:

• there is a Mattel-centric outer layer that micromanages the entire operation and stifles decision making

• the Human Resources group is extremely two faced and does not work to create any cohesiveness within the operation

• numerous Mattel folks had and have been brought to EA to manage that have limited qualifications at best and have nothing but themselves in mind when decisions are to be made; they are life long project people that have lived out of suitcases and on the Mattel teet historically and fail to act in the best interest of those they supposedly lead

• finance decisions and budgeting that the current business model has very little chance of supporting

• announcing that they are looking at outsourcing just days after Donald Trump's visit is a reflection of the cowardly nature that has been Mattel's mantra for many years

It's an absolute shame to watch for someone who was extremely proud to be employed there and am watching friends and colleagues beings trampled

What's worse? being called an F-Peeon or going to work everyday abd having your work abd morale peed on?

I come to this site for information. Usually all I find are bleeding hearts saying how sad it all is (but offering no information to those who who are not longer there) OR people complaining that they don't like others posts.

How about lets get to the real reason for this site and talk about the company. I could care less what people have to say when they vent. I disagree that we need to keep it "classy". People come here because they have something to say - let them say it in whatever fashion they wish. Grow up. This is the REAL world and ALOT of people have been hurt by this company's bad management.

Who ever is hosting this site should remove these types of useless threads that just remove any credibly that this forum should sustain.

Yes, Mattel has gone south & will continue to do so due to obvious reasons but comments like this one should not be allowed to continue going forward.

Sorry for the cliche, but we must keep it civil & pertinent if this site is trying to stay true to it's content/observations.

This Roycroft sounds like a hip, swingin' place. Is that where Dickson stays when he's up for a visit? I'll bet Adler will make that his home-away-from-home if it is as advertised.

I agree, this person making these vile comments is a pathetic human being, clearly in need anger management counseling. I can't imagine having to work beside someone so filled with such ugliness.

If I was in HR (and I'm not) I'd find out who this is and place them at the top of the list for the next layoff.

Someone this miserable must make those around him also miserable, just do everyone a favor and set him free.

It is truly disgusting to witness a comment like this. If this rumor is true, real people and families will be affected. You will probably be cheering if it happens. You are a pathetic human being.

What's also pathetic is that a less severe version of this disdain for FP is common at Mattel for no good reason. How can a company/brand be successful when many people inside Mattel are working against it? Mattel is a farm-league level company because too many people are focused on Barbie and Hot Wheels and nothing else. Why do we keep buying companies if all we do is under resource them and put them at the bottom of the list?

This company is a disaster. It's clear from this site and the mood across the company that Mattel is irreparable and no longer has a good reason for being. Someone please buy the company and put everyone out of this misery. Making toys should be more fun than this.

can you truly quantify anything that has happened to our company in the past 5 years as "classy?" look at how our culture has changed, how morale has been decimated, good hard working passionate people thrown out like trash. sure the original poster is vulgar, but sometimes so is the the truth.
