I was laid off last year from the DC and I loved my job and still miss it to this day. But I have a new job that is way less stressful and a management team here that cares about my family.
When I was at Mattel there were times I had to miss my kids things on the weekend. I would tell my Boss can I come in after my kids events and I was told no that if I did not come in I wouldn't have a job.
But then there were other people in my team that wouldn't come in because they used the excuse that they lived to far. Now I do not have that problem as my new place of work actually works around my family schedule. So if you get laid off please know there is better! I am proof of it.
