Thread regarding Sears layoffs

growing weary of it all

getting tired of being told to make bricks without straw and tried of district managers and the 'So let it be written - So let it be done' that is just taking us down faster and faster

Unfortunately, there is no Moses to deliver us from this.

I have been with Sears for over 35 years and have seen such a decline in our store that former associates would not even recognize it. The other day our district operations manager was in our store to discuss how we can improve sales in the stores. Of course he did not want to really hear what most salespeople believe is one of the main reasons, which is the big difference between sears.com and the stores when it comes to pricing, also free delivery, lower haul away and even PA prices. The only things important are getting e-mail addresses, and sending recaps and kym postings. No more advertising flyers in the newspapers or even in the store, associate hours cut to single coverage in most departments. No hardlines MCA's to do signing or setups, no cashiers , how management thinks this will save Sears I wish I knew. All that is important is more and more worthless metrics.

Up until I was let go 3/4/2016 I had been there since 1978 right out of high school. I would have had 38 yrs on 3/23/2016.
