Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

If you want any hope of change

If you want true change in your work environment, then you should vote for Bernie Sanders. His agenda calls for more social justice, especially in the workplace, and people like Sarge et al would at least have to pay their fair share and since they earn easily over 10 million, their taxes would rise about 34%

Think about this for the November election.

Feel the Bern & vote for him. Income equality and job protection for the 99%.

Recently laid off here as well. I voted Bernie and if he wins the nomination, I'll vote for him again. That doesn't have a thing to do with Staples, but there you go.

The Sanders campaign predicted Hillary's win of the 5 states and are predicting heavy wins for him going forward. Feel the Bern!

Just because Clinton "won" on Tuesday does not mean Sanders is out.

After today's primaries I don't think Bernie has to much of a chance.

You do realize the layoffs and your work conditions are due to the social injustice in our country that can only be addressed through politics....Middle classes taxes would go up about 8.8%, but you would not have to worry about paying for university education for your children, nor healthcare, so you would actually end up saving money in the long run.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, I truly am. I wish you the best with your spouse and kids and the job search.

Although one cannot see the big picture in the midst of overwhelming adversity, we have the power to shape our future on the political landscape....that was message of hope. Kind regards to you and yours.

As much as I would be tempted to get into this, The Layoff is not the right forum for a political debate.

Go to reddit/r/politics.

I will say that any tax hike Sanders (or Clinton) initiate will hit the middle class harder proportionally than it will hit the upper class.

Please leave the political BS off of here. No candidate is going into the White House, waving a magic wand and then all wealthy people are miraculously going to pay higher taxes. That's not how it works.

I get on here to commiserate with others about issues at Staples. I was downsized a couple of months ago after 17 years with Staples. I spend my days trying to find a new job. I worry how I'm going to pay my mortgage when my severance runs out. I can't take my kids on the trip I promised them during their spring break. I worry about paying bills. I'm trying desperately to hold my marriage together. So, do you think I give a rat's ass what any political candidate has to say about tax policy right now?

By the way, I voted this morning.
