I am one of the laid off ex employees that has gone to another toy company and I can honestly say I don't miss the drama, politics, inept systems and all around unhappiness!
There are fantastic opportunities out there for talented team players! Getting laid off was a great thing and I am thankful to be shown the door, and greener pastures!
You don't realize how sad and negative Mattel is until you don't have to go there anymore and pretend everything is okay!

Don't look back, Mattel is a lost cause and against all odds it continues to decline. Living well truly is the best revenge. You go girl!
I've been here 15 years and never has there been a time that so many people have left on their own accord with no plans other than to get out of this hell hole. Why hasn't upper management addressed this issue? Obviously, there's something terribly wrong with the culture and management. Seems all they've literally done is offered free coffee, put a gigantic hot wheels logo on the lawn and make more reserved parking spaces. It's just sad.

I left on my own terms from that Hellhole years ago but still have PTMS aka Post Traumatic MattHell Syndrome with strange MattHell dreams. I spent/survived so many years there so I guess that place is just ingrained in my subconscious but no worries there because I realize that it was just a bad dream as I wake up a free man with a smile on my face. I'll take PTMS over PLM any day of the week.
I will gladly take a couple MattHell bad dreams knowing that I have friends that are still stuck there for one reason or another. I feel like Andy Duphrain in the Shawshank Redemption.
MattHell turned into a very evil, toxic place & I'm so glad I fled when I did. Every day I count my blessings.

Ah, if only there were more like opportunities in the NYC area. Everything moved out west and TRU are scumbags to work for.
I could not agree more! I feel the exact same way! I wouldn't consider going back to that atmosphere it was soul-crushing and toxic!
