So staggeringly incompetent elements of Geoscience Technology (particularly at the Director level) are still essentially in place. It is unbelievable. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
Company needs to be bought out before it dissolves before our eyes.
1mbk, you seem very well informed. So 29% G&G layoffs compared to the quoted 17% layoffs across the board. Do you think Anadarko is transtioning from being an E&P company (with historically high wildcatting success) to an 'energy supply company'?
DISCLAIMER: I am not a Wall St analyst, I am a retired contractor with 20yrs working for Anadarko, just interested in how the company is evolving
If you add all numbers geologists were hit by 29 % (70/247) , geophysicists were 33 % (33/94) , petrophysicists 15 % (3/20), geotechs 28 % (17/62). We lost 120 + g/g people . Many were Gurus in their
respective fields, interpretation, science, software. They may be getting old and costing money but many were adding value day by day. This is big loss to the company not realizing the real impact in the future. If upper management does not take any bonus for one year , they would have saved much needed talent . somebody's comment is true, " You realize that without geologists and geophysicists, you engineers wouldn't have anything to drill? Who do you think finds the oil and which zones to produce from? " . God, I hope they know what they are doing , please forgive them.
Why is so much poison & venom directed towards Geoscience Technology in this thread? Petrophysics has been mentioned a few times but what about Geophysics, Geology and RCT?
There are some good people in there working their butts off.
Please, let's have some objective comments about what you think the issues are with GT and not just random hate postings.
Unbelievable - with the exception of a handful most of the petros are inept ass kissers
You realize that without geologists and geophysicists, you engineers wouldn't have anything to drill? Who do you think finds the oil and which zones to produce from?
kisses from canton
Geology and geophysics were hit hard. Petrophysics was untouched.
