Get rid of all (or most) or the engineers since they are so young and stupid with no common sense. Looks like a two year High school reunion in meetings if they show up! Money means nothing to them, and they think the more they spend the more they are regardless of company implications. They might mean well but they have no clue!

I'm not an engineer. But, you people bitching about the young ones in the industry realize our industry had a huge problem with future brain drain? A ton of old guys on my side of the business got back in the last few years for absolutely ridiculous pay structures because there was no one else out there with experience.
Any news from the London office
I was given one of the biggest drilling programs in all of Las Vegas to run: The Tangiers, by the only kind of guys that can get you that kind of money - reservoir engineers. Sixty-two million seven hundred thousand dollars. I don't know all the details. Matter of fact, nobody knew all the details. But it should have been perfect. I mean he had me, Nicky Santoro, his best friend watching his a$$. And he had Ginger, the woman he loved on his arm. But in the end, we fawked it all up. It should have been so sweet, too. But it turned out to be the last time that street guys like us were ever given anything that fawkin valuable again.
But we need more students in STEM degrees!! But those young engineers don't know shit!! You can't blame me, you know us field hands, instead of trying to mentor, teach & shape them into something we respect, we'll just piss & moan, cop an attitude, project our insecurity onto them, and then play the victim when the engineer is finally pissed off at us!! Am I right??
Believe it or not I have 25 years experience and I went on a job overseas, was paid more than our Vice President back home. Pissed alot of people off when they found out. You can imagine what happened next.
1 year-still wet behind the ears
2 years-knows just enough to be dangerous
5 years-can actually do something without screwing it up most of the time
10 years-knows their shit, some go on to management
20 years-master
25-35 years-unemployable because beam counters don't like their salaries, think they can replace them with 2-5 year guys.
Hey, I'm an engineer and I have been out of High School for 2.1 years, so take it back on 2 years.
