From an ex-Anadarko employee - Just wanted to wish all the Anadarko folks the best today and going forward. Whatever happens today and beyond may be tough, but you are tougher. Life has a tendency to derail your plans. Some of the greatest things that ever happened to me were things I never planned for or even dreamed of. And I had to suffer through some hard times to get there. But I persevered. And so will you guys. If the worst happens today, take time for yourself and your family, pick yourself back up, shift your gaze to the kind of future you want, and get back out there and make it happen. Best of luck.

I left Anadarko a few years back after 20 years and it was really a life saver! Just breaks my heart to see such good people let go. Outside looking in and looking back Anadarko just outgrew themselves and their managers have no heart. They manage from a paperback book and I hope they end up digging ditch where they belong. Not all are bad, but the Rockies group is a frigging clown den, oh ya the manager is a frigging clown!! To all who got laid off...don't look back and believe me in time you will be happy and glad they let you go.
Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me. Forced/allowed me to rethink my career, get a fresh start in another direction. Turned out really well, and I shudder when I think I might have stayed at that big old company if they "let me". It's a big, exciting world with a million ways to make a living. Go forth and prosper!!
