There's so much negativity and Anadarko bashing on this forum lately.
As a change of pace, tell us what keeps you working at APC. Why have you not quit and gone somewhere else to work?

This is a #GOLD thread
What keeps you working at Anadarko?

You would have to be the dumbest piece of sh*t to quit before getting paid out. It's a great place to work but the industry is in a bad place right now.
Good Question.....Money, it's all about the Dead Presidents!
The money is the only reason I work
No company is perfect in anyway or close to it. Anadarko just like any other company is going to have its faults. I enjoy Anadarko due to the people I get to work with and the location for sure. Way better than other companies I have heard of and even worked at.
Agree with the first post. One of the better energy companies to work for. Benefits, location etc. But management (directors in particular) take care of their favorite ass kissers who are not necessarily the better producers. Nepotism has become a problem with special treatment given to management's offspring.
The best thing about APC is the benefit and location. What makes APC looks bad is favoritism. At least from one or two managers that I know. If you hang out with your manager after work, then you can get all the perk out there. You can even get your significant other a job.
Good luck to everyone out there. This is not the end of the world. Life must go on....
Well ... that backfired a bit
I have only been here for 2 years. I enjoy it. Why do they not support telecommuting?
Good Luck All!!!!
Behind the hubris of the location, facilities and the core values shit APC is just like any other company - the employees are at the end of the food chain
It is not a great company !
Inertia. Good location if you live in the area. Unvested benefits with upside prior to 2015. The devil we know rather than the devil we don't--a different employer. Many genuinely good and decent coworkers.
But Anadarko is not a meritocracy. Employees are not trained or promoted with any realistic expectation of genuinely rising through the ranks, at best they will be rotated. Mid and upper level managers tend to be brought in from the outside. As you would expect, as anywhere, insiders use their positions to protect and promote themselves, to get keep as much of the rewards as possible. Management agrees to allow benefits for the masses to placate them so that they can corner an even larger slice of the pie. Anadarko is in a weakened state because of brashness and arrogance and little stupidity, not just because of market forces.
I would willingly still be working there if it wasn't for some f---tard "director" who had no technical or leadership concept of what they were director of and a HR support structure who could not recognize that said "director" was a manipulative, lying, vindictive, bullying arsehole.
I location, pay, stock
I am just in this for the fashion.
My awesome coworkers and boss! I love this company and if laid off would apply again in a year.
