I was an engineer laid off in 2013. I had been with the company 4 months and I was given a lump sum of approximately 4 months salary. My 401k and MPP fully vested, but my stock options and restricted share units were not. They also set me up with an outplacement firm that was helpful

Plano office closure was a different situation and severance could have been higher then. I've heard it's only 3 weeks pay + 3 weeks for each year of service. Can anyone confirm that?
In 2013 the severance package was 12 weeks salary plus 3 weeks for every year you had worked at Encana. They also accelerated your LTI's, and obviously paid for your unused vacation.
I couldn't tell you if you can negotiate anything. I would guess no.
