Following some smart restructuring decisions in retai (increased payroll and adding positions), Staples now is paying out bonuses based on earnings and individual accomplishments. As several on this site criticize this company, Staples continues to prove its critics wrong by moving forward against a tide which washes some other retailers away. By paying out competitive wages, bonuses, and rewarding individual performance, this company shows its strength in action and financial benefit to its employees. Times may be tough in the retail industry but the commitment of all the complainers on this site (and other sites) is testament to the fortitude of Staples. You may see a lot of criticism here but in reality there are not too many employees leaving their cushy jobs. Lots of excuses and complaints, but at the end of the day, these employees are making a great living and continue to benefit from this company's success. You're welcome.

OP - This is a Staples is BAD forum. Go look for a Staples is good forum, but I'm guessing you would have to create one because you are the only one that thinks they are. TheLayoff/Reddit/yahoofinance boards regarding Staples all trash the company. Even Glassdoor only gives Ron a 45% approval rate and that is filled with fake accounts to boost ratings.

it's all BS, the OP is just looking to get a rise out of everyone else on this board. Even if it is someone that had to much Kool-Aid, Staples is like a snake,... sooner or later Staples will turn on OP and bite them badly.
I know of no managers that enjoy their jobs, and all are simply aspiring to last a few more years or find something else. Whoever wrote that tripe they are clearly in bed with those who have ruined the company and or simply or of touch with reality
Does this mean they will now pay the bonuses they stole back a few years ago too? Since they are now so ENLIGHTENED

Seriously ?! This company takes care of its employees alright. I worked there 10 years, was in a positive comp store, had great reviews and was pushed out with a bunch of lies they called a pip. They helped me right out the door even though I was doing everything they said I wasn't. They helped me out of a job, a paycheck and the ability to feed my kids. I have to go to a food bank and lost my house so they could save a buck. I didn't do anything but my job well. Well enough to earn raises. To a pay rate that was on the high end. We were singled out because of our pay. Our age. Stop saying we complain. We simply tell the truth. Get a clue. See the writing on the wall.
