Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

There is life after Noble, and it is so much better.

I was laid off by Noble last year, and initially I was devastated and scared. After a long job search, I landed on my feet. I didn't quite realize how terrible Noble is until I began working in a somewhat "normal" environment. The ratio of managers to workers at Noble is unreal, but the most disturbing Noble characteristic is the blatant sexism and discrimination. I overheard a "closed door" conversation between managers that still sickens me to this day. I wish the best for everyone still employed by Noble, but that company doesn't deserve to survive this downturn. It doesn't get much worse than being employed by Noble.

One day sale! 80% off of Chapstick and Knee pads at Walmart. Noble deserve to have low life employees like you.

Noble was good to me and to my career. It's a trying time in the industry and decisions get made. People look out for themselves and their families first. Survivor of the fittest.

I've been able to land in a great spot and I feel thankful and grateful. However, my job security will still ultimately be related to commodity prices being healthy so let's all hope for that. Noble continuing to struggle would mean that the market still sucks and none of us want that.

Move on, get interviews and land a job. A better situation is out there. From a office politics perspective, Noble is up there for sure and that's something I will agree on.

I'll maintain that my stint at Noble Energy was great for me financially and professionally. Let's be respectful to the folks that are still holding on there. I'm pulling for Noble.

Core values - Good PR phrase. How many settlements have been made to surface and royalty owners?

I agree. Noble is a "low life", garbage, bottom feeder company. They always try to boast about their "core values". They have NO core values other than to enrich their management team. Is spying on employees so you can lay them off a "core value"? How managers who have no integrity. Is that a "core value"? Noble is one of these companies who has "core values" when it suits them. When it doesn't suit them they throw it out the window. It's easy to have "core values" when oil is $100/barrel. We really find out about a company when things get rough. Noble has shown what they are all about over the past two years.

I believe they want to hire people they can manipulate. People with integrity and experience might question their practices. I think Noble is a disgusting lowlife company.

Canonsburg was the worst at this. One densle manager and she knew nothing.

Corruption, Sexism, and Discrimination are popular within upper management and senior managers at Noble. You are 100% right about not hiring older professionals. Some of the managers intend to hire young ones fresh out of college especially if they are female from South America. It is easier for a manager to hug them, kiss them and call it Spanish cultural behaviors! No wonder one of the Latino’s female was promoted from Geophysicist 1 to Geophysicist 3 in less than three years? While many other genders much smarter than her are still in level 2. I don’t know what to call this besides sexism and discrimination by some managers.

I agree I was told by a manager that she couldn't hire a person for our group because he was too old. That she was told she must hire someone fresh out of college. I just couldn't believe it when I heard it. But that is the new Noble for you.
