Yup and The packages will likely be reduced from a monetary perspective with each subsequent layoff. My understanding is the earlier packages were more lucrative but I'm not sure

Absolutely! If the attrition, after the RIF, is not 10-15% they will make up the difference with another RIF in 6-9months.

NetApp is still clinging to the past, which is proven with the acquisition of Soildfire. Instead of investing in other technologies, other than storage, they stick with what is comfortable.

GK references Cisco all the time but he forgot Cisco started to invest in future technology, such as WebEx, Servers, security, etc. Cisco moved away from just networking and created a better business model.

NetApp, after 20 years is still stuck in the safe mode model (failure model) with just storage. NetApp is playing safe for an acquisition because they don't know how to build a true transformed business!

It may not be that long either - this will be probably the biggest, but expect more probably in the new NTAP FY, then at mid-year (this Fall).

Always have Plan B ready. And probably C.

There will be another 're-org' in 9-12 months! So keep your job searching going!
