Jean is a load of crap that could care less about being in EA or the hard working people here, plus look how she faired at AG. She and her cold hearted, uninspiring, self serving load of crap have done nothing for us here at FP...please leave!
Jean likes to use fancy words to disguise the fact that she doesn't know what to do. She spent $1.2M on developing the AG brand position because she couldn't make up her mind, while V and K got it done for Thomas for a fraction of that.
She's spent a year and half personally handling the Learning Initiative for FP core with Mark Z and the best they come up with is that they've "built-in ECD into each toy and it's invisible!". Are you kidding?! A year and half to say that we don't know what FP's unique take on ECD is?! Can't wait til she's gone this month (confirmed by GM in May).
Shame you guys are going to be phased out. Mattel obviously has very little faith in you folks. outsourcing is like the relationship fade of the business world.

If he stays with softgoods applications will FP shift enough additional chairs etc to justify his salary, which is likely more than all the FP Designers combined?
I saw a halfway decent baby chair with his patterns on in and it didn't look terrible. Does he know anything about designing preschool toys? absolutely not and even he admits that in this article.
If he sticks to softgoods application he might be OK........can't tell until I see the final product.
We're talking about those wood toys that have been warming the shelves for so long that they're about the sprout leaves? Never have I seen such sterile, bland look down you nose at the consumer package and product. Such hubris to think this is what moms want. If you are talking about the wood toys, those are not his design. They have been at Target for a while. Those were FP designers ideas

What a lame-o. It is all so utterly ridiculous. BTW, Any of the wooden designs you see online were all designed well before he got here. Everything was done by an in house designer with real talent. I just looked up J Adler's preschool designs online & he may have a chance........I stand corrected, we'll just have to wait and see, could work if he's any good.
How can it be cost effective to move the HR guy from Mega to EA and pay for Jean to go back and forth between EA, NYC and her home in WI. Another smart move.

Just wondering how Adler's whack design sense has to do with preschool toy product/packaging. Clothing?, maybe but even that would be a stretch.

I was a Product Designer for over 30 years & the fit just seems really strange, MattHell is really just turned in to a bad dream.
It seems so incredibly unlikely that anyone posting on this site would actually defend Jean that I'd say the only logical conclusion to make here is that this poster is in fact Jean herself! This, of course, is amazing because that means Jean just referred to FP employees as "children" and "rednecks", which, if you think about it, seems about right if you were to guess how she might sum up her views of FP employees in two words.

Our company needs an inspirational leader, which is certainly better than an "Ice Queen"! She offers absolutely nothing, while Jeff offered more ideas than any leader I can recall.
Geoff was a better leader. He understood the playful FP culture and embraced it to his advantage. Not surprising that FP had a great year last year with him in charge of NAD. Contrast that to the lifeless, devoid of emotion approach Jean takes and it is sad where we are now. Totally out of touch with reality on the ground. Jean probably doesn't say hi to you because she doesn't know or care who you are and sees you as a cost saving opportunity and not a talented professional. Morale doesn't improve under these conditions
Jean has always been an ice queen.
Her job is not to be your grandma, "Are you OK Honey?" She has a job to do, and if she does it well who the hell cares if she doesn't ask if you had a good lunch?
If she doesn't do a good job being "nice" shouldn't keep her around either.
