Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Any unemployment issues?

Been laid off going on 3 weeks applied right after being laid off. Still haven't been approved. ..The reason? Halliburton had not released to them a statement saying a layoff occurred. Anyway to make the ball roll faster or just SOL

I was delayed 4 weeks but received two deposits on the 5th week. ALL because I answered "I don't know" on the question about Severance Policy. Always answer YES it IS company policy. My mistake. The others that were let go got theirs in 3 weeks.

That's normal for Oklahoma. If you answer a question I don't Know then they have to contact Halliburton. They did and Halliburton straightened it out. All is good but there are no jobs here where I am.

If you were with Landmark, you may have problems if you give them the Halliburton contact information that was in your package. I was denied at first because Hal in Duncan said that I never worked there. Need to be sure to specify Landmark as your former employer if it applies.

I'm in Houston and it took the unemployment office around 3 weeks to get it approved. Not sure that was on Halliburton or just the State. I didn't get paid work the first 3 weeks because I had worked a couple of days the week I got laid-off and then they counted the 2 weeks in lieu of notice.

Where Halliburton screwed me, they took out my child support from the severance up front. They were only supposed to do that if I was behind. At one point until I got it resolved, they were still taking out support from unemployment or future salary so I was basically paying double child support. If you pay child support and get laid-off, then contact the person handling your case before you get the severance.

In some states you will not receive any payment until your severance runs out.

I'm in CA and I didn't have any delays. I heard some people here did because of Hal not completing a form...

Just one of the many ways Halliburton, by way of your former management and HR have of fking with you, long after you are gone.

Which state are you in? I got laid off 3 weeks ago and I received my 1st payment a week ago. Week 1 was a waiting period.

There is a waiting period of 4 weeks to get an unemployment payment deposited on your bank account. you may get paid for 3-4 weeks on a single payment.
