Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Grade 11. Management layoff

Can someone please tell me why none of the team leads, supervisors and maintenance manager got layoff yet?

Everyone else got layoff, early retirement or fired as techs. However, team leads, supervisors didn't get layoff yet or fired. Instead they give them STA, short term assignment in canada, alaska, Louisiana, colorado...etc

Please explain this cap to me. Are they that important ? Or well connected?

Prudhoe bay management are all about kissing assto operations. They are worried about paying their new houses and wife car than run the shop. I worked with them on my STA, they suck dickkkkk 24/7. Especially what they call now lab supervisors. I hope you get run over or eating by a wolf bitchhhhh man

Most managers rise above their competency level - learning as they go along. Some had some innate ability to do the right thing, but, for at least half of them, their main strength was self-preservation.

After 30 years the last thing I was asked to do, by an HR clerk, was to sign a document promising not to use any IP. They then passed me to the reception girl who showed me the door. 30 years. No managers in sight. Craven bunch. The higher they were the fewer principles they had. A real shame, Schlumberger used to be such a decent technical company, but now iit s an indecent management hierarchy.

They never get laid off cuz they know people in high places at Schlumberger and part of their job is to suck upper management's c**k. Also, the more they lay off their subordinates, they more they make themselves look useful in the eyes of upper management. Would be fitting is these two-faced snakes get run over be a semi when they are on their way home from work.

Why are managers being targeted as villains? Directives carried out are not personal.

Our guys in Prudhoe Bay, AK were overwhelming kind, helpful, supportive.

My question is this. Do managers actually feel any type of remorse when they are sitting there with HR telling an employee with 15 and 20 years of service they are being let go? Then escort them out like they are criminals?

Wrong assumption. I know at least 5 Managers (who were really assets) who got laid off, from G12 and 13

So team leads without a team are assets? Kinda ironical.

Seems reasonable a trained team leader or supervisor can cover more duties. Two for one deal for SLB.,

Congrats to those who are diverse.
