Any word on which departments were hit? I've heard that the announcement for the closing of the NYC office is only days away.

Head count in EA is creeping up as the day goes on. Anyone know what departments they are culling the working class from? Hey, have they sold the Campus yet?
no matter how you frame it it's F----up and it makes us all mistrust upper managment they are a bunch of short sighted carpet bagers !!!!

Absolutely devastating for these people and the whole company. It's so easy for HR and the bean counters to "make their numbers" and reduce by headcount or dollars, but they have no idea what they are doing to the company long term. In letting all that experience and expertise walk out the door, they are dispersing talent and tearing down teamwork that has been built for years. This madness of hiring more chiefs and letting go of the indians must stop. The new idiots in charge are no better than the old idiots in charge. There are no longer any careers at Mattel, only jobs. This short-sighted company only cares about the dividend, and so it will continue to spiral downward, living from quarter to quarter, prattling endlessly about headwinds, Nadler, and feigned self-importance. Anything but the real issues. Sickening. Just when we thought morale couldn't get any worse. Hold onto your hats, El Segundo. Headwinds dead ahead.
I have the count around 13-14. Sad for all who have been let go because I'm sure it's shocking. But, give yourselves a few days or weeks and your stress levels will be at an all time low. Good luck to all still here. It feels great to follow a leader I have no respect for in Design. Please someone show him the door already.

MZ had to pay for that BS video with the salary of the little guy/gal. I'm sure he's in hiding as I write this. Scared old outdated coward.
