If you think it's over and you're safe because you got your bonus, think again. This coming week will be unpleasant, the upheaval will continue. Apparently upper "management" is getting paid extra for each stupid decision. Cash bonus for arrogance.

of course! did you expect the VP's and directors to be replaced by recently hired interns who would have more drive and passion in their sphincters than the sum of upper management? nope! if you're close to 40 and earning close to 6 figures your assis getting booted out the motherfuckin' door. not as layoffs but trumped up poor reviews, position deletions, outsourcing, you make it, they'll give you a line of sh-- a mile long to help themselves sleep at night. good luck and God speed. don't be afraid to whip it out and piss in their faces. give them what their giving you right back.
Confirmed, ES to be hit at the low-mid levels, right where it will do the most damage. PLM= People Leaving Mattel with experience, skill, and common sense.
Depressing, but it looks like this company is going this way: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/10/opinion/sunday/congratulations-youve-been-fired.html?action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=opinion-c-col-right-region®ion=opinion-c-col-right-region&WT.nav=opinion-c-col-right-region
God knows there's are quite a few over the hill vp's and directors that can be replaced with an inexperienced new hire. If anything the new hires have a stronger work ethic than most of our current leadership.
Yep, agree. Less employees, more contractors, temps and interns. Welcome to the new corporate world.
Historically the small round of cuts at the NYC office is the warm up lap for the following week's cuts at F-P in East Aurora.
An employee at Director level or above was quoted as saying that any cuts wouldn't result in a headcount reduction - the latest round of interns that were hired full time in January will replace some of the few remaining long term employees that will be fired on a one for one basis. A two for one - not only do you get cheap inexperienced people but you also get rid of expensive tenured employees that knew how to design, engineer, and manufacture toys. Since Mattel has turned into a sourcing house you really don't need the experienced people anymore - just ask any of the current management and they'll tell you that China can do it all. Sickening at best.
