Yes, it's called JOB ELIMINATION.... They eliminate the job, and recreate the same job for someone else that they can pay for less, just giving it a new name.

As a supervisor, I really am clueless to all these changes. o.O
Yes, can't remember what they renamed them but I would guess that it is the preview to being let go. Then they can pay you at the rate of your new title and not as an ASM
All our Assistant Managers were let go a few months ago. We were left with a Store Manager and two key carriers. So corporate renamed ours "fired".
