y'all stop drinking the Koolaid. Oil was never meant to last forever the planet will eventually run out anyway so one of these days maybe today when the O&G market is going through a low/down period. There will be no recovery that we can look at the history and say this always happen or it's just temporary. Bad management in WFT case won't be rewarded this time around no bailouts like the banks and car industry and only the cream of the industry will rise to the top....

"The oil patch will never rebound to what it was. History dictates that. The good ole days are gone. Times are changing."

Yep, the times they are a changin'. All those electric planes, trains and automobiles just on the horizon will simply stop any demand for oil. The petrochemical industry will stop using petroleum and go to corn oil next week. China and India will completely stop their population growth tomorrow, so no increase in oil demand there. Time to get on the gravy train with a government job.

History dictates the opposite of every thing you're saying, not sure where you went to school.

All of the O&G majors have 2 classifications of employees. Salaried are considered as assets and Hourly are considered as liabilities. Now that you that things start to make since.

The oilfield will pick up and jobs will open up, but for me to come it will cost them. I want a huge raise because i am experienced and can do the job on day one and not need training. My lay off will cost them if they call me back like they say. It will be a sign for it starting up when they hire more HR to process new employee paperwork and safety to give safestart classes...just wait and watch....

At this point who gives a sh--. When things pick up and they will it will be get even time. Most guys I know just stand around all day and do nothing. Walked in to one supervisors office and he was watching the masters all day. Good guys will work and all that will be left are the asskissers and the slackers. I am enjoying the time off. One thing with a lot of hourly techs not able to pay there bills now and worrying all day about that are they putting tools together right? Bad time for f--- ups.

Getting serious about fixing costs. All the hourly employees are to be fired before the end of the Q2.

Remember the letter said it would vary by region/employee group. Possibly their group will have more cuts but no one knows
