The marketing guys are the ones that think they can do product that's why. And why not, they don't do any real marketing in a sense. They're glorified product managers.
How many of them does it take to make a line list? A BDO? These things are all BS and don't require a single degree to do. Margins? Finance gives them that. They spend most of their time creating decks. For who? For each other. At least half of the presentations around here are to ourselves. So if you cut out most of these marketing idiots you'll probably see most of the useless meetings go away, most of the asinine presentations, and have less stupid product meetings. They all think they get credit for product when all they're supposed to do is give you a target. You one marketing person to work your numbers in finance. That's it. The rest of them are sandbaggers. Emailing other marketing idiots like themselves and do in less than nothing. Observe them when you're around them. Their lives are run around ppt. If you didn't need to present in ppt they'd all have nothing to do.
marketing is triple coat with Teflon and a cloak of invisibility. you could list each of the marketing personnel left in NYC and not one has done a damn thing advance the business in a positive direction. all numbers and metrics that equate to failure and blind Vinnie at the helm is laughable. he's old school. old school failure.
not surprising the twats in marketing remain unscathed. how can you blame people for design and packaging when they are under marketings thumb? why is marketing never held accountable when they're calling the shots?
Is it worth it to keep that division in operation?
