The news in the Dept spread like wild fire. I'm not thinking there's any way that certification will get enough volunteers across the board....

There is no way they will get 63 people in cert. Anyone on disciplinary action or have attendance points better start packing.
Well, considering this morning, leadership sent out an email to the entire department detailing the layoffs planned for 4/28, I would hope the news "spread like wildfire" through the floor. It's not like it was a big secret.
