Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Read this if you've posted on this site....

It's shocking the comments people make in regard to UOP employees who have dedicated years of their lives to UOP. This is a stressful time for all UOP employees. Rather than bashing our peers and listing their names on this site why not band together and build each other up during this difficult time. The horrible things you are posting about your peers shows you have no class and zero respect for others. What if your child or parent dedicated years of their lives to UOP only to have you bash them on the internet. You are an insensitive group of people and clearly have too much time on your hands. Maybe you should be laid off. Google "Every Life Has a Story" the Chick fil a employee training video. Maybe this will give all of you a little heart during this difficult time.

There you go again...you took the bait! Why don't you reveal your name? That would be a great start! That way the VP's can give you an extra pat on the back as they walk you out the door. You are kidding about that post for a round table? That's mind blowing stuff!

My suggestion was for people to use this as a place to innovate and offer ideas and hope leadership will listen. Looks like it's working as we already have a post on enrollment .... My point is to stop using our energy to bash others publicly and instead get feedback and ideas to save our jobs and the company. I don't have all answers but I can assure you there are many employees here that might have wonderful ideas and I would like to hear them.

To the person that started this thread...you just became as negative and nasty as everyone you are criticizing. Don't act all "I'm on here to send a message" when all you did is contradict yourself. Have you read your posts? Where are your ideas? Oh wait...let me guess nobody wants to hear them. For the record I love what I do and I have held a higher position for awhile now so no I don't hate UOP or my job. Some people need to vent just like you, remember when you point the finger there are more pointing back at you. So let's here it, what can we expect from you?

Camden Kid thank you for your recent post. You are correct in order for UOP to thrive and become what is was in the past employees have to feel safe to voice ideas. This is the perfect place. Use this site to bring up issues and allow peers to help solve the problems they face daily in this safe environment. For leadership I challenge you... Monitor this site and find a way to reward those who bring innovative ideas to the table. You're a large company there has to be a way to do this.... Win win.

For years, Apollo Group and University of Phoenix did not listen to those people who wanted to make it a better place for students and teachers. And they made it worse by developing a CULTURE OF SILENCE. As anyone who has followed this company knows, threats and intimidation, illegal firings, nondisclosure agreements, and binding arbitration were used to further silence critics. The best quit or were fired--and the best off what's left continue to leave.

Oh yes, keep on believing, while the Rich folk man the life boats (massive stock payouts in the case) and the 3rd class are left to drown , just like the Titanic...

One last comment. Why doesn't someone use this site to collaborate and throw ideas around that can help save jobs and rebuild an organization that provided jobs and careers to so many individuals? I praise anyone who accepts this challenge. Most people are lazy and would prefer to spend time on the negative vs taking the high road to strategize. That's easy right? Fact is some of the best and most innovative ideas can come from employees on the front end dealing with customers. For those of you that feel like your ideas don't matter that's not true. Accept this challenge and turn this site into a resource to sound innovative ideas.

Rather than being an adult and having a heart to understand the message in the video you once again criticize.... You have control of your life. If you are that unhappy leave. Truth is you won't because you can't find a job at another corporation. While you sit here and find fault with everyone the sad truth is you are insecure and can't find another job. You are more than likely in a position that doesn't understand how difficult it is to run an organization of this size during these challenging times. It's so easy to criticize when you've never managed or held a high level position. It's clear you never will either with your horrible attitude and outlook on others. Is the glass half empty or half full? Point is the glass is refillable. For anyone who has been the target of this site remember one thing.... The only thing worse than being the target of the comments... You could actually be the individuals making the comments. One day these individuals will stop blaming others for their issues and take accountability for their own lives and jobs. Don't like UOP and don't want to work with your peers? Leave.

@Every Life Has a Story, sorry to hear about your troubles. You can thank the Sperlings and Todd S. Nelson for leading a good company with a decent mission into a questionable enterprise. If more people had spoken out, UoPX might not be in this position.

Really Chica Fila? The bigots who think being gay is wrong, being uber Christian is the only way and close in Sunday so they can spend time with their mistresses, oh wait I mean families? It's called reality, this stuff is part of life. Now put your big girl pants on and go enroll the 3 students that you do a month to do just enough.
