There is a rumor going around that another 500 will soon be cut. Does anyone have any evidence supporting this?

Each VP and SVP have a target number they need to achieve... if people don't leave on their own, and the goal is not achieved through attrition , another 'restructuring' is already on the books
There will be more layoffs. They are not even 1/2 the way to the cost reduction.
Still many useless people sitting around doing nothing useful, but some teams are already skeleton crews. The amount of empty cubes is staggering.
Netapp was innovative when talented people engineered filer, but since then they have been sinking ship due to horrible leadership who only care about their personal perception and advancement....can't go anywhere without the fools proudly pointing out who's in charge of what team and making ridiculous decisions. Meanwhile everyone else (recruited due to the smell of money) walks about clueless on how to add value while on a hamster wheel. The smart people who designed the technology left for smaller start ups long ago and have been replaced with new hire cheap Indians who don't even understand what the are making after they had to over complicate it. Seeing the circus is hilarious.
The "transformation" is just a panic act after the decline of many years. Decisions are made by liberal soccer moms and dads who never had a real job. The layoffs are a workaround to extend ther pay checks and when that doesn't seem feasible, they'll pad their resume and be hired to ruin another company.
Yes I think there will be more layoffs and the question is more of when. Traditionally by the start of August is when new people are brought on and others are left go.
think, the 1st round was just the "Cost Reduction" Round, i think there will be a 2nd "Restructure" Round
People were notified in March but their last day is end of April with some being extended a bit longer. This could be it. Need to let the dust settle
According to the SEC filing (http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1002047/000110262416002144/netapp8k.htm), layoffs will occur through fiscal "the end of the first quarter of 2017." Look under Item 2.05 in the SEC filing.
