today it was announced at a meeting that there will be no more full time positions, about 8 people quit and corporate also decided to get rid of the assistant manager position, so now the former AM is a regular hourly employee. everyone's hours are being cut, most are down to 15. the store's operating hours are being cut down too. am i just being paranoid? things don't look too well.

Hours cut, full time cut, maintenance cut (store employees or managers are to do maintenance--sounds like a law suit to me), most employees are down to 10-12 hours a week, online order worker only has 8 hours in the last month (lots of orders laying around waiting to be packaged or lots of orders waiting to be picked), no one working in jewlery, pantry, electronics, garden shop, toys, sporting goods or appliances. Only two to three employees on floor at any one time and only one cashier except on weekends.
^sorry i'm not sure how to reply to people on this website but yes, at my store they eliminated all the full time positions but 2 and those 2 are in softlines i do believe.
I work in data reset at my local Kmart store and I've only had about 5 hours a week since New Years. There's always down time after new year but definitely not this bad ever
I am recently retired from kmart- can you tell me if ALL full time positions were eliminated in all the stores? What about reset, data, and pricing leads? Thanks for any info you might share.
