They are trying to find ways to fill the empty space in TLP. Maybe a lease out. Some internal fighting over moves and restacking and the sensitivity over the financial and gas marketing functions performed there.

Has one of the more thoughtful post around. While it has taken way to long to finalize, APC is trying to do the right thing by its people. This is not any easy task, I am glad they don't have the layoff process down to a science. Guess what - the companies who do this well - do it all the time. Think about that next time you complain about something.
Post ID: @G5KTbFy-3kwg You are 100% correct. The biggest issue is the insurance people will have taken away, or have to pay high rates for. Also, many people have spent their entire careers at APC, and it is those I am scared for. For me, I have worked other places and always landed on me feet. The long time employees that get cut just need to realize there is life after APC. With saying that I would sure miss all the perks and nice environment we are given to work in. APC is a really nice environment to work in, but other companies have good environments as well. APC is handling this with class, and taking care of their employees. In that respect we are all very lucky. The current oil environment has taken just beat everyone down. Thanks to APC for holding on this long. People need to understand the person they are is not the job they have.
So based on all these polls, it's becoming increasingly clear it will be March 10. End of pay cycle, after the HGS meetings, right before Spring Break and Townhall.
Again, purely speculation. The Severance package is VERY generous. I wouldn't mind signing one and finding a new job within a week or two. If your degree is not tied down to the industry (Mechanical Engeneering, IT, Accounting, etc) you will find another job in Houston rather quickly.
I love working here but make no exception I'm not scared, give me my 8 months pay and I will happily exit. There is life After APC.
Good Luck to all of YOU!!!! It's pretty nasty to be without a job, I know I am out of work. Please Take Care.
This all sucks! Just so it we can move forward one way or the other.
Vernal was told it would be done by the 20th.
I really doubt it will be the 9th. At the woodlands location there is an HGS conference the 8th and 9th. I highly doubt they want this to play out in front of the rest of the industry.
Walker said at the lunch they hoped everything would be communicated by the 22nd - not that it was for the remaining.
Spring break depends on what school district. In The Woodlands/Houston area, lots of schools have Spring Break the week of March 14.
Heard that at the Birthday Luncheon Walker said that the 22nd Town Hall would be for the people remaining. So, if you look at the calendar, 1-2 days before a PayDay, with minimum people away on PTO (meaning not Spring Break), March 9 or 10 looks like a decent bet
It's actually the week of Match 14th for some.
Springbreak is the last week of March
Idk bout that date
Why March 9th?
March 9th. Bank it.
10k boxes on standby!
week of March 14th doesnt make much sense. That is spring break time. Too many people on vacation during the middle of march. I do agree that it will happen prior to the town hall though. I wouldnt think that they would want this hanging over their head going into the townhall to face the employees they plan on letting go.
Layoff is the week of March 14 per my boss if that is true Town Hall is for the survivors which makes sense as on the insider it says executives will talk about plan for 2016!
March is next week.
Will they combine layoffs with compensation announcements, so managers meet with all employees to say what their bonus is and if they still have a job? Seems like a bad way to do it but is it possible?
New town hall March 22
