Usually IT is the first to go during layoffs! I am shocked that they have kept enough of IT around that anyone would consider themselves "safe."

No, IT isn't any safer than any other department right now. They've had people laid off in the past few months just like everywhere else.
I done already applied because I am working with GE now, got buddies over there ya.
Actually several open positions with Sperry Drilling division have shown up on the boards lately. Odd? What's driving that? Superlative division within the hal empire, won't stay vacant long.
