Store managers only find out the day before the announcement. They get an email the day before. District managers only know a few days to a week before. Only the corporate people know weeks or months before. They have to set up liquidation which takes time
Your job will not be taken by an associate from a closing store.
They are only able to apply for open positions in go-forward stores.
Kmart family (SHC) for ya...they really don't care.....we are/were taken for fools....lied to, we give all they take all....Really sad that closing information was found out through local news source...

I work at one of the closing stores and our management team didn't even have the courage to let us know beforehand, I found out on the freaking news! This is just sad after being there many years.

where can that list be found? wonder if our jobs in remaining stores can be taken by workers from closing stores? and who makes those decisions? our district manager is fairly new and store manager is uncertain.
